Eligibility for a Mass Gun License

 Eligibility for a Mass Gun License include being a minimum of 21 years of age, US Citizen or permanent legal resident along with proof of your residency. After you apply for your Mass Gun License, your local police department will run a background check on you; depending on the location, the results can take anywhere from 3-8 weeks. The fees range from $25 - $100 depending on the type of Mass Gun License you're applying for.
If you have blemishes on your criminal record, you application for a Mass Gun License may be denied. Possible disqualifiers may include:
  • Drug and/or Alcohol Abuse
  • Conviction of a Felony
  • Being the subject of a restraining order
  • History of mental illness
You will also need to take a State-Approved Basic Safety Firearm Course and submit your certification of completion along with your Mass Gun License application.
